Walker & Hall 5 Pc Silver Plate Beverage Set Tea-Chocolate-Kettle-Coffee-Sugar
The Walker & Hall 5 Pc Silver Plate Beverage Set is a stunning Victorian-era collection that includes a teapot, chocolate pot, spirit kettle, coffee pot, and sugar bowl. Made of silverplate, this set embodies the elegance and charm of the 19th century. Perfect for any collector of antique silverware or those who appreciate the beauty of Victorian design, this set is a timeless addition to any home. The pieces have date letter marks that mark them made between circa 1880 to 1883. The pieces of this set are smaller than their modern versions, that is due that coffee, tea and chocolate were not cheap and had to be imported and this set would only be used for special occasions to impress. Having a set was a status symbol and was more important to have a set to use, than to actually use it. Unfortunately, this set is missing a creamer and maybe a waste bowl. Fortunately, this ribbed pattern was popular so one could find pieces that could blend with the set, it's just that the bright cut border would probably be missing. I could see just using a nicer glass cream pitcher with the set and not try to be matchy-matchy and if a waste bowl is needed, there are several options. Spirit Kettle - 12.75" high; 9.5" long to end of spout; 4.75 wide at base. Features an attached hinged lid, stand that is removeable by pulling attached pins. Only flaw is that the actual alcohol/spirit warmer is missing. Chocolate Pot - 7.25" high; 6.5" handle to spout; about 3.5 wide. Has a hinged lid and there are holes pierced in the handle.
I think the holes are designed to dissipate the heat generated by the Hot Chocolate. Open Double Handle Sugar - 5.5" wide handle to handle; 3" wide; 2.75" high at rim & 3.75" high at handle. Teapot - 8.5" handle to spout; 5.25" high at handle and 3.75" high at spout; about 4" wide. Has a hinged lid, wood finial and handle need some attention, have fading from I suspect being put in a dishwasher.
Coffee Pot - 8" handle to spout; 7" high at finial; about 3.5 wide. Hinged lid, but as with the teapot the wood needs treatment.
