VINTAGE Sheffield Silver Plated Footed Gallery Tea Drinks Serving Butlers Tray

  
A lovely English silver plated gallery tray made in Sheffield. Perfect for serving afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks - all you need is a butler to carry it into your drawing room! Oval in shape, measuring 18 x 12 inches and standing roughly two and a half inches tall. The pierced rise-and-fall gallery rail has cutout grab handles at either end and the plateau is beautifully chased with a classic rococo pattern of scrolls and foliage. The tray is raised up on four ball & claw feet for that extra touch of grandeur.

Offered for sale in very good vintage condition with no plate loss. It sits well and the surface shows the usual light scratches from use/polishing and some minor dents to the gallery - see photographs. The join in the rail is visible (see photo 7) but still very secure.
