The base rests on 4 dolphin feet. There are two keys or pins which lock the teapot onto the base. They are different in size so they much be inserted into the correct openings.

Condition: The tilting tea pot is in fine condition as shown in the pictures. The inside is clean and usable and the silver plate is shiny and bright. The hinge and all four feet are sturdy and free of repairs. Size: It stands 17.5 inches tall while on the base and stands 12.75 inches tall while on a flat surface.
