Victorian Derby Embossed Repousse Japanese Revival Locking Tea Caddy Tea Box

Our items are all used, mostly Victorian and a few vintage. Not the first item we sell is perfect. This piece of the pattern features a mythical medieval figure which might be a mythical flying enemy associated with the Chinese new year. The figure is a small version of a ferocious dragon which Derby also included on other pieces of the pattern.

We have had several pieces in the same pattern but featuring the dragon, all with the same design of the background. The box is rather large and comes with a key which is marked Bill's. It stands about 3.75 inches tall on four ball feet, 6.75 inches wide and 6 inches from front to back. The embossed details are excellent in design and have lovely patina as shown in the pictures.

The box closes as it should and locks but it may lock by itself so the key should never be stored inside the box. It is quite unusual and an eye catcher. We do not believe in Buyers or Sellers Remorse. Get images that make Supersized seem small.
