Ornate Antique Indonesia Silver Plate Tea Set & Tray 1900s

  
Exceptional quality 9 piece silver plated Tea/Coffee/Cocoa set. This set is in fantastic condition with no known repairs, scratches. This is a set that is about 100 years or more old so very minor wear could be present. The set comprises large taller profile teapot, smaller coffee pot , large size twin handle lidded sugar bowl. Also 2 smaller bowls with no lids. There is a heavily decorated and pressed Indian-style pattern embedded in the outer surface of each piece with vertical section dividers. The spouts on both pots (see photos) show the face beak and neck of an eagle or hawk creature. The Tea Tray has details of flowers in the same style and pattern. The inside of each piece is in clean usable condition and clearly shows the reverse of the pressed outer walls.

The lids on the teapot and coffee pot are fully seated on a flat inner rim and securely hinged. This set is a fine example of earlier Plate and it should not be confused with cheaper and more recent EPNS silverware.

The quality, heritage and silver craftsmanship in this ornate set is truly a delight. There are no hallmarks on any piece in the set but this is consistent with later silverware. Tray - 47.5cm x 37cm. Width (spout to handle) 32cm.
