MID Victorian Sheffield Silver Plated Ornate Tea Pot-atkin Bros

  
A mid Victorian (post 1853) silver plated tea pot by Atkin Brothers of Sheffield. The piece is beautifully decorated primarily with embossed floral borders as can be seen in the images. A crimped collar graces the upper. The handle sports a pair of ring insulators and an ox bone oval detachable knop to the upper.

In very good condition for its age, only on close inspection will you be able to discern some feint small dots to the sides of the pot, a little rubbing to the hinge to the lid, and a fine linear rub to one edge of the spout. There is a little dint to the upper of the handle which is an impressed mark where the tip of the knop to the lid falls back on it when filling. The inside has very little or no build-up of tannin. The knop shows veining but nothing to cause instability.
