A rare and complete coffee and tea service on a its original tray, by the French Master Silversmith Ercuis, in the Annam pattern that was available between 1936 and 1939. Sleekly styled and heavily silverplated, it is one of the most sophisticated and elegant coffee/tea services created during the French Art Deco period and is not usually found complete and in such good condition. The tea pot is 6 inches high to the top of the wooden knob.
The coffee pot is 6 3/8 inches high. The sugar bowl is 3 ½ inches high to the top of knob and the creamer is 3 3/8 inches high.
All pieces have wooden Macassar ebony handles or knobs. The lids are securely attached as are the handles. The interior of the pieces is perfectly clean, ready for use. All pieces are in very good condition with faint trace of surface use on the exterior. The original matching tray is 18 ½ inches long and 12 7/8 inches wide.
The top surface is in very good condition. The bottom of the tray has a few more signs of use. All pieces are stamped and hallmarked "Ercuis" and the ensemble weighs a little over 10 lbs.
Vintage and antique objects have lived and been used and because of that, they sometimes show it. The condition of the object is described as accurately as possible, including its character flaws.
