Elegant 1930s Goldfeder Silver on Copper 6 Piece Tea & Coffee Service

  
For your consideration we are offering an impressive silverplate on copper tea and coffee service. Attributed to Sol Goldfeder, this set was crafted with exceptional quality during the late 1930s for those with considerable means and was quite expensive when new. In overall good condition with some of the pieces showing signs of use and enjoyment through the decades. Expected light surface scratching is seen on inspection, along with a small dent in the teapot near the middle in the handle area, and a ding in the coffee pot near the top of one of the feet (the ding on the coffee pot is so small it is impossible to photograph). Rub marks from overly aggressive polishing are seen along the upper edge of the coffee pot belly, as well as on the rolled edging on the tray (most pronounced on this piece) just below the outermost trim.

While the silver is wearing away in these areas, its not immediately noticeable or distracting and is difficult to photograph. Light wear and oxidation is seen randomly on all pieces, most of which will likely polish out with gentle patience. The interiors of each piece are clean and perfectly servicable although the copper is showing through to the coffee and tea pot interiors. This is inherently common and usually expected with Goldfeder pieces and does not affect the exterior beauty or intended utility of the set.

The silver plating is just gorgeous and polishes up to a clear and brilliant luster. 1 8 covered sugar bowl. 1 6.5 cream pitcher. 1 footed serving tray with double handles 29l x 19w.

Each piece is decorated with gadrooned or rope design edged with millgrain detailing; leaf and berry finials grace the top of each lid. All pieces display the Goldfeder hallmark on the bottom.
