This listing is for a beautiful 19th Century antique gilded silver plate ornately decorated 3-piece coffee/tea set with nice Civil War historical provenance. The set features a highly embossed and engraved design with heavy gilding. Each piece has four garland medallions with one medallion on each piece being engraved. The teapot has a stylized animal's body for spout. The coffee pot and creamer are in very good to excellent condition reflecting only minimal wear from normal use and age.
The coffee pot does have some very fine rubbing on the engraved medallion - no other noted flaws. The creamer is in very good condition with no noted flaws. The sugar bowl may have originally had a lid although there is no lid with the sugar bowl at this time. The sugar bowl also has a burnished area on one side of one handle where the silver and gilding is removed. These are the only flaws that we spotted on this set.
