Antique Victorian George Travis, Sheffield silver plate 4 piece tea coffee set

  
Fantastic 4-piece Victorian silver plated tea and coffee service. The coffee and tea pots have large figural finials to hinged lids, in the form of a flower. All the pieces are of baluster, lobed melon forms and are richly embossed all over with flowers, leaves and scrolls; the bodies are decorated with floral repousse work, on to an applied scroll and shell base, the handles decorated with applied leaf forms. Each piece has a vacant cartouche, so this can be personalised as a present. Absolutely fantastic set in great condition!

Made by George Travis & Co, Sheffield, c. Coffeepot - 24 cm tall, 25 cm spout to handle, 16 cm across widest point. Teapot - 17 cm tall, 24 cm spout to handle, 16 cm across widest point.

Sugar bowl - 11 cm tall to rim, 18 cm handle to handle, 12 cm across widest point. Milk jug / creamer - 12 cm tall to spout, 12 cm spout to handle, 9 cm across widest point. Very good antique condition; wear to silvering and sratches commensurate with age; dent to side of teapot and sugar bowl.
