Our Stock # 18.7338. This is an antique tea service. An English, silver plated, hand chased teapot and jug set by John Turton of Sheffield, dating to the late 19th century, circa 1900. Pleasingly decorative, late Victorian afternoon tea service. Displaying a desirable aged patina with minimal tarnish.

Silver plate shows a clear, bright reflection to the gently polished surface. Comprehensive service with tea urn, teapot, sugar tray and milk jug. Superb hand-chased foliate patterns issuing scrolled motif, spring flowers and vines decorate each piece. Teapot lids dressed with foliate handles, stood prominently above the whole.

Graceful c-scroll handles to each, with gentle flourishes adorning the apex. All four pieces standing upon a quartet of leaf decorated feet. John Turton, Sheffield maker's marks to base, all with matching serial number of 0799. This is an eye-catching antique tea service, with delightful hand chased details to the globular forms.
