The hallmarks belong to the famous French house Christofle, known for their silver-plated metal products. Charles Christophle was the first in France to acquire this technology in 1842 from George Elkington, the famous English craftsman and inventor of the electroplating silvering technology. Gallia is a new alloy created by Christofle that is similar to pewter but stronger.
