Lovely Round Shaped Footed Silver Plate Antique Coffee/Tea or Chocolate Pot made by a famous Irish Goldsmith. Silver Plate is in Excellent condition with no issues I can see.

This has a beautiful round shape, the handle looks like a tree branch, as do the rest that are on both sides of the pot. This is a footed pot with three feet. The décor in the SP is very pretty. The top opens with a hinge that is also in very good condition.

Measures about 10" tall by about 8" from spout to the end of pot, and also about 8 Round. I have used this pot before for water to make tea and it pours great.

It is a fun piece to have on the table for breakfast or tea in the afternoon. This piece is marked WM Gibson & Co. BELFAST EPNS 1688 there is another # that I can not read well but I did list a good picture of the marks.

William Gibson, Goldsmith and philanthropist, was born at Drumbroneth in 1838. Gibson was one of the foremost jewelers of his day and he presented elaborate silver cups to the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society and the new mace for Belfast Corporation. This was first used in 1913 for the tercentenary of the granting of its Charter by James 1. He also presented Queens University with an 18-carat gold mace in 1909 to commemorate its new status as a University. There is quite a lot of information on line about this man.
