Made by Shaw & Fisher of Sheffield who were specialised in the manufacture of Britannia Metal Goods. The family began manufacturing in about 1820 and in 1833 James Shaw married Matilda Fisher and it was with James and her brother Thomas Fisher that the firm first used the name Shaw & Fisher. The business went more and more into Electroplating from about 1850. The firm remained in the family until the end of the 1870's.

This tea pot has all of the markings of Victorian Revival influences which were used at the time to create contemporary interpretations of historical styles. It has slight scuffs and age related usage marks but remains without large dings or damage to the body and is still in a very shiny plated condition. There is a slight split to a part of the insulation on the handle as shown. It holds just about 1 pint of liquid, enough for any Gentleman's morning or afternoon tea. It measures about 7 1/4 inches from spout to handle and stands about 5 inches tall.
