Antique Silver Plated Tea Service Set Simpson Hall Miller & Co, Quadruple

  

Beautiful old quadruple plate tea set, including teapot, cream jug, bowl and a lidded pot. The lidded pot may have been for sugar, but could be used as a tea caddy, the open bowl may have been for waste. The design features gadrooned upper and lower portions divided by a belt of floral motifs in relief, and an upper band of flat undecorated metal. The wiki on this company points out that many museums have collected different designs from this maker.

The plating is in very good condition, a little blistering on the teapot spout and handle, but otherwise in great order. The pieces are all quite clean on the inside. The company ran from 1866 to 1898 before it was acquired by another concern, and was based in Connecticut USA. See my other silver/plate listings.
