Antique Reed & Barton pre-1869 Tea Pot 5 / Good Condition / Rare. Reed & Barton antique monogrammed tea pot numbered 5 on the bottom. "MFD & plated by Reed & Barton 2425 Patent Applied For" imprinted on the bottom.

This tea pot is older than 1869. We base this on the PATENT Applied for notation. Other similar Reed & Barton Tea Pots show Patent 1869.

Aesthetic Movement design (1860 to 1900). The leg design depicts the head of a man in relief.

The upper part of each leg depicts the head of a lion in relief, with fruit pouring out of each lion's mouth. The upper part of the handle and the finial on the hinged lid includes an animal (we believe it is a lion) in relief, with fruit coming out of his mouth.

The other side of the finial on the hinged lid depicts a cross. Height 8 1/4" tall x approximately 8" wide from handle to spout.

Engraved with a beautifully designed band encircling the entire pot. We have a second larger but identical tea or coffee pot listed separately from the same estate.
