This is an antique hot water tea samovar made of silver, brass, and copper. English; Egyptian revival style, popular during the early/mid-19th century. Features an almost proto Art Deco look with sleek geometric lines, bas relief capital columns and Griffin's claws at its base.
Hand-hammered sphere and hammered / filigreed top - stunning workmanship. It is not marked or dated anywhere that I could see- might be there somewhere but I didn't see it. About 17 inches tall; the sphere is approximately 9-10 inches in diameter. Condition : beautiful original condition with wonderful patina. Only very minor plating wear along claws where you can see some of the copper substrate.I spotted some stress cracking on bottom face exposed to heat? Hard to see and doesn't take away from overall look. Otherwise it must be triple or quadruple plated since I didn't see any other copper showing through anywhere else.
