The embossed decoration encircles the shoulder area of each piece and is on a band around the dome-shaped pedestal base. The center of the body has a fluted or paneled design with a slight melon form.
The lids on both the coffee pot and sugar bowl have a tall, fluted/paneled shape with decorative finials on top. The handles are also decorated with embossed flowers.Of Meriden CT established in 1894. Forbes was originally part of the Meriden Britannia Company and was absorbed into International Silver Co. (1) Coffee pot measures 8 3/4" high, 10" wide (spout to handle) with a 4 diameter base. (2) Lidded sugar bowl measures 7" high, 6 3/4" wide (handle to handle) with a 3 1/4 diameter base. (3) Creamer measures 5 1/4" high, 5 3/4" wide (spout to handle) with a 2 3/4 diameter base.
(4) Waste measures 5" high, 6 1/4" wide (handle to handle) with a 2 3/4 diameter base. The total combined weight of the set is around 4 pounds. This nice set is in very good Estate condition. At some time in its life, the coffee pot has had a professional restoration leaving three small solder "bubbles" on the outside of the pot near the base below the spout and the base of this pot is slightly out-of-round.
The pot sits level but has a very slight backward lean. Other than this, the set is in excellent condition, displays beautifully and is in clean, useable condition.
