The listing is for a George III Old Sheffield Plate Samovar, Urn for tea or hot water. This piece has a Neo-classical form and stands upon a square base with ball feet. Reeded handles meet the upper portion of the piece with a leaf-form joint. This piece is from the end of the 18th century, giving it a well earned patina and signs of wear.
There is some areas where the copper is revealed, particularly on the handles and along the edges. The few dimples and shallow dent are mostly on the back-side of the urn.
The knob on the spigot is secured on the "open" position and currently will not turn to close. It stands 15" tall and measures 9" wide from handle to handle.
