VINTAGE Viners Sheffield Silver Plated Gallery Tea Drinks Serving Butlers Tray

  

A stunning vintage English silver plated gallery tray made by Viners of Sheffield ('Alpha Plate'). Perfect for serving afternoon tea or pre-dinner drinks - all you need is a butler to carry it into your drawing room!

Oval in shape, measuring 18 x 11 1/2 inches. The pierced rise & fall gallery rail has cutout grab handles at either end and the plateau is beautifully chased with a classic rococo pattern of scrolls and foliage surrounding a blank central cartouche. The tray sits flat to the table. Offered for sale in excellent vintage condition with no plate loss or damage. The surface shows virtually no signs of wear, just a few very fine scratches.

I see a lot of these trays and this is definitely one of the best - obviously a display item that has seen very little use. Freshly cleaned and polished to a high, mirror shine. Will be very well packed.
