Exquisite Antique English Silver Plate Tilting Tea Pot 1871 WG Sissons Sheffield. Such an incredible example of the elegance and utility of tea time.

My client has held this piece closely for years. This is a collectors find. The tea pot is held by a beautiful stand and includes the oil burner.

Marked with large bell hallmark for the maker W. Sissons and the letter D. They manufactured silver in Sheffield, England.

This was a bit hard to photograph but the mark is clear other than being covered in some of the oil/soot from years of use. The lid hinge will need to be resoldered as it has become unattached. Four prongs(two per side) allow the large pot to rest on the burner stand and pour with ease.

Chase work abounds on the stand and features acanthus and floral designs. The lid is also chased with a large sunflower, five leaves and three delicate buds. Enjoy hot tea for many hours as the pot stays hot even without the burner. Up your tea game and add to your special collection. Pot on stand measures approx 14 from top of handle to bottom of base. Kettle measures 11.5 from edge to tip of spout. The pot is approx 8.5 at the top.
