This rare, highly unusual, lovely quality, nice condition, Arts and Crafts movement Dr Christopher Dresser inspired design silver plated tea kettle and stand by the Henry Hobson and Sons of Sheffield, England. It comes complete with a silver plated burner that fits into the flat circular tripod stand. The set dates from the late Victorian period, circa 1880. The tea kettle which is of a very unusual design consists of a round globular body standing on three (tripod) equi-spaced long narrow tapered conical legs with ball feet.

There is a tall cylindrical neck with a flat topped circular lid. The tall elongated high loop handle which sprouts from the globular body, has air holes to the lower inner surface to assist in heat dissipation.

There is a simple "S" shaped shape spout. The stand carries the mark underneath of HH&S which relates to Henry Hobson and Sons of Queen Street, Sheffield, West Riding of Yorkshire (now South Yorkshire), England. The shape number of F6035 is stamped on the base of the stand. It was attributed to Dr Christopher Dresser but was made by Hukin and Heath.

The tea kettle stands 13 3/4 inches high on the stand and 11 inches on the table the stand is 6 1/8 inches in diameter. It has a combined weight of 1219g unpacked. This is an exceptional and very stylish design antique tea kettle in good antique condition.

There have been minor dents that have been repaired and all items have been professionally re-plated in silver plate. The ebonised part of the knob is a replacement.
