Lovely Antique silver early Barbour Tilting Tea kettle with warmer and stand and even includes the tea strainer! I believe it is plated. I have done quite a bit of research research and found only three of the markings. Rare to find it still with its little tea strainer.

You can see that it needs cleaning. 1 The Barbour Silver Company markings of "Lion with Wings-Griffin/Thistle-Crown/Arm-and-Hammer" arising out of a Castle.

Beside these marks , says, Barbour Silver Co. Appears to have been a marketing company for I J Stearns & Company started by Samuel and Charles Barbour in the late 19th century in New Haven, Connecticut.

It was originally called Barbour Brothers Company, located at 64 Market St. This piece does not have the "IS" lettering, which means this dates prior to being absorbed by the International Silver Company in 1898.

Pieces after the 1898 were marked with "IS" along with the Barbour markings. 2 , BSCEP which I now believe is the silverplate mark. The other marks which I have not uncovered anything are. 4 another mark that looks like a hallmark , a star , Plus sign and another slightly different star that looks more like a petal. See photos of marks which I have added.

This was handed down to me by my mother and Unfortunately have to part with some of my pieces. There is a dent in back measures One inch wide..

And it shows wear on the inside bottom.. I have not tried to clean , There is also a small dent and wear on the burner expected because of age and use.
